COMMERCIAL RECYCLING
RECYCLE GLASS SEPARATELY
Glass bottles and jars only. Recycle in a separate container. Do not include broken glass, cookware, window glass, mirrors, light bulbs, dishware or drinking glasses.
When disposing of co-mingled recycling in containers, do not use plastic bags to contain the recycling please place loosely in container without bagging.
PAPER/NEWSPAPERS/MAGAZINES
Include paper of all colors (tape,staples,glue, and paper-clips ok), envelopes (windows and labels ok), spiral-bound notebooks, file folders, phone books and milk cartons (empty and rinsed). Please Do not include tissues, napkins, paper towels, waxed paper, frozen food boxes, food-spoiled paper, coffee cups, or hard cover books.
SHREDDED PAPER
Please contain in recyclable bags. Do not place loose in recycling container.
CARDBOARD
Flatten cardboard boxes. Please Do not include wax-coated cardboard, take-out food containers or pizza boxes.
PLASTIC TUBS AND BOTTLES
Include yogurt-type containers (6 oz. or larger), rigid plant pots (4 inches or larger) and buckets (5 gallons or smaller). Rinse containers. Please Do not include plastic bags, lids or take-out food containers. NO STYROFOAM.
METAL CANS
Include rinsed aluminum, tin and steel food cans, empty aerosol cans and empty, dry, metal paint cans. No need to flatten. Please Do not include lids (unless they are attached to cans).
FOIL
Remove food from foil. Crumple into loosely packed balls.
SCRAP METAL
Include scrap metal that is smaller than 30 inches in any direction and less than 40 pounds. Please Do not include metal that has plastic, food, or other non-metal materials attached.
FOOD WASTE RECYCLING: FOOD WASTE ONLY
fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood, shellfish, bones, rice, beans, pasta, bakery items, cheese, and eggshells. Please Do not include:Liquids is in grease / cooking oil plastic or Styrofoam glass metal
FOOD-SOILED PAPER- not allowed after March 1, 2015
Waxed cardboard, napkins, paper towels, uncoated* paper plates, tea bags, coffee grounds/filters, wooden crates and greasy pizza boxes *uncoated food-spoiled paper does not have a shiny surface Semi-transparent compostable bags may be allowable if certified by the Biodegradable Products. Please call our office for more information.
Please have containers on the curb, at a loading dock, or otherwise accessible on collection day.
